Aquatic invasive species, Roder Rafferty, Mgr.

An Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS) volunteer project has been proposed by several board members. The DNR offers training for volunteer lake monitors. Those ILAA members willing to contribute a few hours per month from May to September should contact Roger Rafferty (218-760-2855) or Andy Martin (612-201-8354). A variety of AIS training dates and locations throughout the state are available and can be found on the DNR website. Local training is scheduled for Thursday, May 16, 10:00 AM at the Sand Lake Community Center. If and only if we get a sufficient number of volunteers, we will proceed with this project so please consider this opportunity. AIS can have significant adverse affects on our lake and property values.
