Fish Spawning Fish propagation and habitat improvement committee, Joe Bender, Mgr. The Bender Creek restoration project has been completed. Walleye counts will be done there in the spring to determine the project's success. Joe says that results from stocking our local rearing pond have been one of the highest in the state. Over 2.9 million fry were stocked May 15, 2005, as well as approximately 30,000 in the rearing pond at the same time. This fall, when water temperatures cooled to the 50s (about the end of Sept.), trapping from the rearing pond took place and the walleye transferred into the lake.
