About Island Lake Area Association
Island Lake Area Association is dedicated to preserving the natural beauty and environmental health of Island Lake. Our mission is to educate, connect, and empower our community to protect our treasured local resource for generations to come.
Our Story
We began in 1998
Founded by passionate area residents and vacationers who frequent Island Lake. Our Association began as a grassroots effort to address pollution and preserve our lake’s natural beauty and quality fishing. We are continually working on keeping our lake clean and thriving with the ever changing conditions we are faced.
What We Do
We have an annual meeting each year usually in June.
We organize clean-up events, monitor water quality. At our annual meeting we also discuss any new events or projects we would like to pursue, go over existing projects from duck house building and installing/cleaning to DNR Fisheries plans and expectations.
Community Education
Our workshops and resources help residents learn about conservation, pollution prevention, invasive species, and local wildlife.
